Prompt
Analysis both the good and bad effects of the use of social media that has occurred.

Social media is consider to be good thing for teenagers and students, however most parents don't think social media is a good things because they think that it affects people in a bad way that it is a distraction. People can use social media to find about things like what going on with the community or for  research to look up for facts for homework. To find jobs to look at colleges and social media is big and companies are starting to use them for advertisement and promotion. There is bad things to social media like being hacked, cyber bullying, and scams that fool people to release their personal information. There both good and bad things about social media.

The good things that social media has to offer is it helps you with networking lets you connect with people and talk to people who are on the other side of the world. Find about what going on with the world or your own community. Research about things learn and to learn about doing new things find out what other things there are to do in life have life goals that you want to do. For colleges now since colleges have Face Book or Snap Chat now that they use to show students how it is in their colleges. They are stepping up their game to get students to chose their college. Social media could be use to look for a job look at events going on or prize that might be offered. Plan events on social media have an easier way to contact people since most people are on social media. Also you can put yourself out there in a good way so business or colleges look at.

The bad thing that comes with social media it is that there are bad things on there like cyber bullying, scams, and being hacked your personal information being leaked to everybody. People can hand out false information or hack you and leak out your information. Cyber bullying is another bad thing that comes with social media. Like rumors can be spread about people even you and gossip. Being a troll or hater by bringing people down saying mean things leaving yourself vulnerable to people who will harass you. People can scam trick you into giving them things like your information where they can steal you identify or get money from you. Parents think that it is just a distraction that it no good for us that it won't us for anything. Social has it pros and cons but most people would be scared of the cons since it a place where people can say the meanest thing they want and you may not ever know who it is.

Social media when use it has both good and bad effects. The good is all the resource we can get and information and putting yourself out there in a good way that people get to see and maybe contact you for something. For colleges to interact with more people and help with your networking to talk to more people be social. The bad things are false information, scams tricks that can get you in trouble with money or your private information being leaked. There a benefit for being on social media, because it where everybody goes on to look for things to look at things and it more modern to be on social media to show off your talent and let people say good things about and to stand out. Parents don't understand social media and say it has a bad effect, because maybe your to busy on your phone than going out, but you could be doing other things that are educational. Social media could be seen as a good thing for most people, however it has both good and bad effects on us.

ESSAY

OPTION 1: Describe the difference in Ray Bradbury's tone with regard to Clarisse & Beatty. Support your analysis with examples of Bradbury's diction and detail.

The difference of tone that Ray Bradbury's use regard with Clarisse and Beatty is that one is talk about that she might seem crazy but she is a genuine innocent curious person, while Beatty is an asshole. Other might say that there are similar since they talk about the old things that use to happen they had knowledge about the past so they would share these things with Montag. When Clarisse is talking with Montag she questions him about things that she has heard from her uncle just asking silly questions like a child and dreaming. While Beatty like to give smart ass response when talking to Montag that he knew more than Montag and that Montag shouldn't ask or think about the past. Clarisse is a person who you would talk good about since you like her personality, while Beatty is douche bag who you talk bad about and to let people know what kind of person he is.

When Bradbury talks about Clarisse the tone changes a lot from calm to scary, because Clarisse isn't seen as being normal in that time she is consider dangerous for thinking on her own free will and she is also being watched. For example it seem that most people wouldn't go up to Montag since he is a fireman, but Clarisse does it anyways and starts asking him questions which would be bad like telling a cop you commit a crime since firemen were like cops in that time. After they have their talk it makes Montag think about his past and what he has done up till now which makes him question everyday and gets sad and scary cause of meeting Clarisse. For example when Montag was with Mildred and they talked about how long ago did they meet and other stuff that Clarisse made him think about then he starts to cry. Also how Bradbury describes that Montag is glad to talk with Clarisse since she did open his mind but then Montag asks for her Mildred didn't care didn't show emotions and just said maybe she died who knows doesn't matter, but it did matter to Montag and he was sad and worried like did she really died and why and how asking questions shows us diction and details about the event and tones are changed.

In the other hand Beatty is an asshole who only care about himself. Also when Bradbury talks about Beatty the tone changes you get a bad vibe from Beatty that he has secrets and the details about his looks and knowledge that he has about the past. For example when Montag is sick and Beatty comes by to pay a visit but Beatty already knows what Montag has and just wants to scare Montag and tells him that it happens all the time but keeps telling Montag to go to work amd tells him that he will be miss but he was just being sarcastic. For example when Beatty makes Montag and drive the salamnder and they end up to Montag house and then Beatty tells him that he is arrest and tells him crap about Clarisse and what she cause him to do and calls him a fool and other things for thinking on his own, then finds out that Montag has an ear piece talking to someone and tells Montag that they will find whoever it is and punish them too. Beatty was a bully and harassed Montag the tone was serious and evil intentions which cause Montag to kill Beatty then we all felt good when this happen, because he doesn't like it when douche bags get what they deserved.

In conclusion Bradbury has a difference of tone between each characters and the most difference is Clarisse and Beatty. They are totally opposite of each other and the tone they have is different from each other. The diction and detail he gives theses character are good, because you can relate it to an actual person like them. Most people will like the best for Clarisse and want to help her out or just talk to her since she seems the type of person wjo you can be yourself and she won't judge you. In the other hand Beatty would be rude to you and judge you and doesn't sound like a pleasant person to talk to or be yourself around him. Bradbury gives diction and details that allows us to heard the tone of the characters Clarisse and Beatty are different.

Questions Part 1

1.The novel Fahrenheit 451 begins : “It was a pleasure to burn.” Why does Ray Bradbury start the novel in this way? Why might it be more pleasurable to burn books rather than read them?

  • So the audience can start asking questions and see what happen next to get them hook on.

To switch it up a plot twist and so the audience can relate that they don't like to read books.

2. In the opening scene, why are the books compared to birds?

  • When the books are burning the ashes are going up in the air like birds flying

3. Discuss the difference between Montag and Clarisse’s lives.

  • The live of Montag is boring because he has a basic life he does the same thing everyday and doesn't question things isn't curious, while Clarisse is curious about a lot of things and thinks about other things to do doesn't want to follow the basic life style that everyone lives.

4. Montag’s television includes headphones called “seashells.”  The “wall to wall circuit” allows Mildred to enter the “play” and, therefore, the television programming. How does the technology within the novel compare to our current technology? In the first pages of the novel, does technology improve the quality of life for Montag and his wife, Mildred? Why or why not?

  • That technology is pretty advanced and our technology is getting pretty close to it and that he predict stuff cool stuff that no one could have imagine. It does not because it seems like Mildred is in her own world and not really paying attention to anything that is going around her. It like it taking over her life and controlling her.

5. Why does the narrator introduce us to Montag at this time of his life, when he encounters Clarisse and confronts Mildred’s overdose?

  • To see how everyone is like in that world and to show us that Montag has changed and that he is not happy with his life and to show what was wrong with the world

  • Becuase she overdoes on her pills and she died and the service changed everything of her all her organs and blood so she can live again.

9. What is the mechanical hound and what is its purpose?

  • The purpose of the hound is to kill people and to keep the firehouse safe

  • Because she doesn't live a normal life she is always asking questions about things that she shouldn't and talks about taboo things in that world

  • No it doesn't it completely off from my opinion, because everyone is not made equal in school purpose, because some learn different ways and some are fast or slow learners and some might be strong in some subjects and weak in other vice versa.

college fair

The college fair was a good learning experience and I learned some new stuff. The cost of attending out of state colleges are really expensive but they really have great programs. They are ranked pretty high and also that some allow you to go in as undeclared. Some are big colleges but have small class room size and great resources, but i thought we weren't given enough time to fully go to each one and talk about the colleges because of how crowd it was or some colleges left. However it was still a good experience

WHAT I SEE IN LITERATURE

"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.”
This is to tell Nick that don't judge people by their appearance , because you don't know how they grew up and weren't fortunate as others. Nick doesn't judge people that much except for Gatsby on his life style and the way he behave, but like him he was an alright person for Nick and Gatsby was a person that Nick really wasn't annoy with and so after Nick getting to know Gatsby he liked him.

FAHRENHEIT 451

At first I didn't think I would like this book but the more I read I enjoy the book the author is very descriptive of the details. You could picture what he is talking about and make a scene very thrilling without having to make it a big climax it could be small and it will still be very thrilling. Also on what he has about the technology is pretty cool and amazing on how he could have imagine all of that before they were invent or before they are invent. Also how the book that world and reality are opposite that how it seems to me and they are still some similarities. The girl catches my attention on how she is curious about a lot of things. but it a bad thing and how she made the fireman have emotion and start asking the same questions he was asked by the girl. When he thought she was weird asking those type of questions. She made him think about his life and what was going on the world.

CAN WE WATCH THE MOVIE

I think we should, because we can compare the book and the movie to see how the director want to describe his way or the author vision. To compare our imagination and the actual visual and see how they are similar and different. To see what we didn't hear in the book and the characters expression.

GATSBY CHAPTER 4

1) What "truth" does Gatsby tell Nick in this chapter

What Gatsby tell Nick is about where he grew up and his past life and what he has done and the way how he got his fortune. However he also left out some stuff which made it sound suspicious. Also to clear out the rumors that are said about him and to let him know who he really is and not to thing bad about him. So he doesn't sound believable because he left out somethings and went through fast.

2.)What "truth" does Jordan tell Nick?  Do you believe either one?  Why/why not?
The Truth that Jordan tell Nick is the conservation that her and Gatsby had during the party. It was that Gatsby likes Daisy and wants to get in touch with her again. Since Gatsby and Daisy fell in love with each other before but end up with Tom after Gatsby left for the war. However Daisy stays loyal even though Tom hasn't. However it is known that Jordan cheats and is dishonest so it hard to believe her, but then again it about her friend so I don't think she would be that mean with her friend. So i would believe Jordan than Gatsby.

MUSIC AS LITERATURE

Yes we can because music describe the tone and theme and the same thing that literature does but in a different format but still the same thing. We are using literature to describe something novels are meant to be read to find something from reading like new things and something new this is an old literature that is still use for many decades but the newest literature that we have now is rap that mostly is associated with the youth because the youth can relate to it more than reading novels. Most kids listen to rap and hear all the lyric verse and feel the tone of the rapper and the theme too.

HELLO 2017!

I have grown a lot from January 2016 till now I have gotten less shy and have been able to speak in front of my peers. I have become more mature and spoken more contribute ideas in classes and paying more attention in class. Trying to catch every little things that is being said to understand the meaning completely. I have been trying to do the most I haven't been trying to find shortcuts or the  fast way.
